What this tool answers

You need a first-pass manual box-and-pan brake size before buying. Enter needed bend width in inches. The calculator names the smallest class on this site’s ladder — 24, 36, or 48 in — or returns NO_MATCH. It is not a press-brake tonnage calculation, spring-back FEA, or roll-former selector.

Width vs gauge capacity

Bend width is how long a straight bend the apron can make in one pass. Gauge capacity is how thick the mild steel (or other metal) can be. This screen matches width only — always confirm gauge capacity on the product page for your material.

Class ladder on this site

Classes use published VEVOR US box-and-pan bend widths checked 2026-09-10: 24 in, 36 in, and 48 in. Matching rule: smallest class where published width ≥ needed width.

When the answer is NO_MATCH

If needed width exceeds 48 in, this site returns NO_MATCH. Typical next steps: split the panel, use a longer industrial brake, or change the design. Do not force a 48 in consumer brake past this screen.
